Scuba diving equipment

While SCUBA gear refers to lighter equipment you wear or carry around, SCUBA diving equipment refers to larger pieces the diver must have to breathe underwater for an extended period. Since your life depends on this equipment functioning correctly, it's important to know and understand each piece when you buy and use it.
SCUBA diving equipment includes the aqualung or rebreather. These are closed circuit or semi closed circuit breathing systems. There are also open circuit breathing systems consisting of diving cylinders and diving regulators.
The workings of SCUBA diving equipment can be intimidating to the novice. Receiving proper certification from an instruction facility will give you the confidence to use all of this equipment. Make sure you learn from a PADI-certified instruction facility.
